Alright, so you've made it to Glittering Cave! This place can be a bit of a maze, but don't worry, I'll walk you through it. The cool thing here is that Pokémon encounters only happen when you step into a shadow, so you can see them coming. We'll be grabbing a couple of items first, then heading to the exit.

Pokémon you can find here:

• Everywhere: Cubone (20%), Lunatone (10%), Machop (30%), Mawile (5%), Kangaskhan (5%), Onix (10%), Rhyhorn (10%), Solrock (10%)
• From the Ceiling: Ferroseed (15%), Woobat (85%)
• Using Rock Smash: Dwebble (65%), Onix (35%)

Once you're through the initial part and reach the next area, get ready for your first run-in with Team Flare. Yep, they show up here too!

After that, keep heading east along the old cart tracks. You'll run into another grunt pretty quickly.

Follow the path a bit further, and you'll come across a pair of grunts. But hey, look who it is! Your rival is here, and you can team up for a double battle against them.

Pro-Tip: In Double Battles like this, moves like Reflect and Light Screen are super helpful!

After you've dealt with them, keep going past the grunts. You'll find an Escape Rope. Grab it! Then, head over to the scientist nearby. He's going to offer you and your rival a fossil each. You get to pick which one you want:

• Jaw Fossil: Revives into Tyrunt (Rock/Dragon-type)
• Sail Fossil: Revives into Amaura (Rock/Ice-type)

Choose wisely! Once you've made your pick, the scientist will head off. Your rival will then mention they're off to the next gym, so maybe it's time for you to do the same. You can either backtrack out of the cave or just use that handy Escape Rope you found.

After you're back outside, heal up your Pokémon. You'll want to hop on the Rhyhorn you can ride here and head back to the start of the route, then make your way into Ambrette Town. Go to the Fossil Lab, talk to the scientist at the counter, and they'll restore your fossil into a brand new Pokémon! After that, it's time to get ready to head back into Route 8.
