Learn pokemon xy Pokemon-Amie stats: Affection, Fullness, and Enjoyment. Master minigames like Berry Picker, Head It, and Tile Puzzle.

Stats:

  • Affection: The most important stat, determining awards. Raised by petting, playing Make Faces, minigames, and feeding PokéPuffs. Maxes at five hearts and is independent of the Pokémon’s Happiness stat. Affection levels correspond to hearts given off: 0 Hearts (0), 1 Heart (1-49), 2 Hearts (50-99), 3 Hearts (100-149), 4 Hearts (150-249), 5 Hearts (250+).
  • Fullness: Determines how many PokéPuffs a Pokémon can eat (1 PokéPuff = 1 unit). A Pokémon eats slower or ignores food when full. This stat is lowered by playing minigames.
  • Enjoyment: Denotes how often you play minigames. More music notes indicate recent play.

Minigames: Berry Picker

This minigame requires a good eye and fast hands. It is the leftmost minigame available.

Difficulties: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Unlimited. Higher difficulties mean Pokémon get demanding faster and there are more Berries.

Gameplay: Tap and drag Berries on the Touch Screen to the Pokémon requesting them (indicated by a thought bubble). Dragging the correct Berry into the thought bubble earns a point. Faster completion earns additional points (orange note instead of yellow).

Modes: Most difficulties are timed. Unlimited mode is not timed; the goal is to get as many Berries as possible before failing to give a Pokémon the correct Berry three times.

Tips: When Pokémon appear in groups, develop a sequential method (e.g., left to right). Prioritize Pokémon that appeared first if they pop up out of sync. Familiarize yourself with Berry positions to focus on Pokémon needs.

Minigames: Head It

Rhythm and quick reflexes are key in this minigame where Pokémon bounce balls of yarn using their heads.

Gameplay: Tap the Pokémon to bounce back the yarn ball. One point is earned per bounce, three points for a well-timed bounce. Consecutive hits build a combo, leading to a “FEVER” double bonus (up to six points) around 10-15 hits. Combos break if a yarn ball is missed.

Progression: As the game progresses, more Pokémon appear, and yarn balls increase in quantity, speed, and variety of speeds.

Modes: Unlimited mode is not timed and ends upon missing three balls of yarn; it does not feature the extra large yarn ball for bonus points at the end.

Difficulties: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Unlimited. Higher difficulties involve more Pokémon, complex yarn ball patterns, and varied speeds.

Tips: Look for rhythmic patterns in the yarn ball drops. Listen for distinct sounds (like a low-pitched whistle) indicating a different-than-normal speed for an incoming yarn ball.

Minigames: Tile Puzzle

You won’t get far if you can’t see the bigger picture in this challenging minigame.

Gameplay: Tap two tiles to switch them. Correctly placed tiles will stick and lose their dashed cyan border. The goal is to fit all tiles as quickly as possible.

Challenges: Puzzle pictures are dynamic and can move/change suddenly. In Unlimited mode, puzzles are sequential with a time limit. Time is gained for correct moves and puzzle completion; the game ends when time runs out.

Difficulties: Easy, Normal, Hard, and Unlimited. Higher difficulties mean more pieces per puzzle.

Tips: Start with corner pieces. Pieces are not rotated. Use the colored border around tiles to identify their positions. Proceed to edge pieces, noting that their colors blend halfway between corner pieces.
