    First Encounter (Raccoon University): The Thanatos is immune to most weapons. Use the exposed cabling wires in the area to electrocute it. Push the switches when the Tyrant is under the wires to stun it. Its attacks include a close-range kick, a charge with a claw stab, and a swipe.

    Second Encounter (Mutated Thanatos-R): This berserk version has more attacks. It can leap high, indicated by dark spots on the ground where it will land. It retains previous attacks and adds a far-range wild arm swing and a powerful overhead smash. Recommended weapons are Grenade Launchers and Assault Rifles. Heal when necessary, as herbs are available. A Rocket Launcher is located beyond scaffolding on the right, near a door to the front square. Attack the red locker to reveal it. Use teammates to lure the Thanatos-R for better aiming. Melee attacks are possible from a ledge near a vehicle.

    Third Encounter (Front Square): The Thanatos-R performs consecutive stomps from the air. The smaller area requires constant movement. If you have a Daylight item, you can obtain the Ampoule Shooter from a tank on the left. Load Daylight into the Ampoule Shooter to instantly kill the Thanatos-R, similar to the Rocket Launcher but faster.
Tips
  • No Weapon/Knife Tactic (1st Encounter): Use electric cables on the ceiling to electrocute the monster.
  • No Weapon/Knife Tactic (2nd Encounter): Lure the Thanatos-R to the surface and jump down a ledge. The ground level difference prevents it from hitting you, allowing you to stab its legs. When it leaps, quickly climb back up the ledge, and it will jump to where you were. Wait for it to leap again, then jump down, causing it to miss. Slash its ankle and repeat.
