Alright, let's talk about some of the optional rooms you can find that might just save your skin or give you a much-needed edge in Resident Evil Outbreak. These aren't always marked on your map, so knowing where to look is key!

We're going to cover Rooms 102, 103, and 104. These rooms are particularly important because they hold switches for a painting puzzle, plus some handy items that change depending on the difficulty.

ROOM 102

This is your first stop for the painting puzzle – you'll find the initial switch in here. On VERY HARD mode, expect a zombie to greet you. Otherwise, this room is pretty bare unless you decide to get forceful. If you can break down the door to the bathroom (either by using force or lockpicking it), you'll find some goodies inside. Depending on the difficulty, it'll be either ACID ROUNDS or SHOTGUN BULLETS if you're playing on VERY HARD.

ROOM 103

Next up is Room 103, which holds the second painting switch you'll need. As for items, it's a bit of a lottery. On EASY or NORMAL, you'll find HANDGUN ROUNDS. If you're playing on HARD or VERY HARD, you'll get a GREEN HERB instead. Oh, and if you're on VERY HARD, be ready for another zombie encounter. The bathroom in this room is also worth checking out; it might contain a GREEN HERB, HANDGUN ROUNDS, or a BLUE HERB, so it really depends on what the game decides to throw at you for that playthrough.

ROOM 104

Room 104 contains the third and final painting switch we're covering here. If you're not playing on HARD difficulty, you can snag some HANDGUN ROUNDS. For those on EASY or NORMAL, it's a GREEN HERB you'll find. Just like the other rooms, expect a zombie to show up if you're playing on HARD difficulty.
