Brief intro.

The Licker is a B.O.W. created by a mutation from a zombie further contaminated by the T-virus. It develops conspicuous features like exposed brain tissue and a whip-like tongue. This creature uses its nails to move on walls, ceilings, and the ground, and also uses them to attack. Named for its extraordinary long tongue, the Licker can detect survivors by its enhanced sense of hearing, compensating for its blindness. The pink, skinless monster will hiss to hint at its presence, sometimes dripping saliva when on the ceiling.

The Licker's main weapon is its tongue. It uses it to whip at victims at close range. If a survivor is underneath a Licker on the ceiling, it will lash its tongue downward, attempting to wrap it around the victim's neck. If successful, the Licker will lift the survivor and attempt to choke them. The Licker can also attack with its nails when a survivor is close. The Licker is a sneaky and smart monster, approaching prey slowly. A survivor can stand still, hoping the Licker moves past unnoticed, but any slight movement or contact will cause it to strike. This tactic is not always safe, especially with other survivors present. A recommended tactic is to run away if you see one before it reacts. If a Licker blocks your path, use a Shotgun, Handgun, or a powerful melee weapon. Aim low to strike the Licker (if on the ground) and attack until it flips over with its stomach facing up. You can then run past it to safety, as it sustains no damage while flipped. To kill it, wait for it to flip back over and attack. Repeat this process to defeat it. It emits a long wail when defeated but may become active again after some time.

The Licker's blindness and evolved sense of hearing are its biggest weaknesses. Creating a loud noise can distract Lickers, but finding a mechanism to do so can be problematic.

No Weapon/Knife Tactic: Similar to the Scissor Worm, stomp down on the Licker. However, Lickers are faster, giving them a slightly higher chance of not having a 'stun' moment.
