Walkthrough

    In the first part of the guide, jump back down and step on the two ! Buttons on the left side of the platform. Follow the trail from the bottom button to reach the platform above. The trail from the top button should be just above the platform and underneath the Star Coin. Jump onto this trail to get underneath the Star Coin, then jump up to grab it. Jump back down to the main platform.

    Hit the top three ! Buttons. Jump up and hit the right brick block for a coin. Follow the path until you hit the Warp Box and warp to the last area. Hit the right ! Button, then the left ! Button. Use the wall created by the left button to wall jump onto the path created by the right button. Run up and jump off the far edge to grab the top of the Goal Pole for a 1-Up.

    Proceed to World 4-Airship, a 'screen moves right' level. Hit the ? Block first, then interact with the Flip-Swap Panels. Walk onto a blue panel, then jump to a red panel. Move up to the bottom red panel, dodging wrenches from the Rocky Wrench, and jump right to a blue panel. Avoid the top path.

    Star Coin Alert! #1: Run to the top red panel, then jump to the blue panel to your left with the Star Coin above it. Grab the coin and jump back to the red panel.

    Run back to the middle red panel and jump onto the blue panel below the second Rocky Wrench. Ignore stomping him to save time. Jump to the next ship. Hit the left ? Block for a coin and the right ? Block for a Tanooki Leaf.

    Move right and jump over the rolling Spiked Poles. Ignore the Fake Block on the right wall and the two real brick blocks (they only contain coins). Fall down the hole, collecting coins as you go. Wait for the screen if you are moving too fast.

    Star Coin Alert! #2: Run underneath the platform containing coins and grab the Star Coin. Be careful of a Fake Block underneath. Run straight back out onto the ridge to gain enough height to reach the platform with the coins. Jump up and collect them.

    Ignore the ? Block and brick block on the stairs; the brick block is empty, and the ? Block contains multiple coins that will waste time if collected fully. Jump up the steps, dodging Bob-Ombs thrown by a Rocky Wrench. Stomp him if possible, otherwise continue on.

    Jump or walk onto the blue panel (depending on its orientation), then jump right onto a red panel, and run across to the next red one.

    Star Coin Alert! #3: Be cautious of the Boomerang Bro. Jump onto the blue panel to your right, then run onto the floating platform and around to the blue panel north of it, which has the Star Coin. Grab it and run back to the floating platform. Dodge boomerangs by jumping, ensuring safe landings on panels or platforms. Jump onto the red panel south of the floating platform, then over the gap to the platform on your right. You may stomp the Boomerang Bro. or continue on.

    Move past the Warp Pipe and down to the right of the ship. Move into the gap to your left, revealing brick blocks. Hit the middle of the three top blocks for a coin and the block above you on the right for a 1-Up. Return to the Warp Pipe and enter.

Boss Fight: Pom Pom

  1. Pom Pom throws two boomerangs and then jumps to a random location. Stomp her at any time while she's throwing boomerangs.
  2. After being stomped, she sinks into her shell, which flies up and slams into the ground above Mario. Keep running to avoid being hit.
  3. After four ground slams, she emerges from her shell, jumps to a random location, and resumes throwing boomerangs.
  4. Stomp her three times in total to defeat her.
Tips
  • In World 4-Airship, avoid the top path near the first Star Coin as it's a trap.
  • Don't waste time stomping the Rocky Wrench near the second Star Coin; focus on collecting the coin.
  • When collecting the third Star Coin, be mindful of the Boomerang Bro. and ensure you land safely after dodging.
  • If you are too fast when falling down the hole for the second Star Coin, wait for the screen to catch up.
  • The brick blocks and ? Block near the stairs in World 4-Airship contain only coins and can waste valuable time.
  • 1-Up from the Goal Pole in the first section.
