Learn how to achieve Ending 1 in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition by defeating the Time Devourer alone as Serge. Includes tips for strategy and gear.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Start a New Game Plus using your cleared save file.
  2. 2
Speed through the opening and Lizard's Rock, disabling enemy encounters if possible.
  3. 3
Head to Opassa Beach as soon as you can.
  4. 4
Prepare for the fight against the Time Devourer. It is recommended to have around 48 Growth stars, but more can be obtained by repeating past boss fights if needed.
  5. 5
Equip the Green Plate armor (stolen from the Green Dragon) to negate the Time Devourer's frequent Green Elements.
  6. 6
If you don't have the Green Plate, stock up on Nostrums for healing, and ensure you have Diminish and Negate Magic to reduce or nullify damage.
  7. 7
Fight the Time Devourer with Serge alone.
  8. 8
After defeating the Time Devourer, you will enter a version of Viper Manor containing the Chrono Cross developers.
  9. 9
Explore the manor and chat with the developers. A sound test is available on the upper floor in the east wing.
  10. 10
To exit this area, speak to Solt and Peppor, who are located by the entrance.
Tips
  • Fighting the Time Devourer alone can be challenging. If you struggle, consider obtaining more Growth stars (up to 99) by replaying boss battles before attempting this ending.
  • The Green Plate armor is highly effective as the Time Devourer uses Green Elements frequently.
  • Diminish can reduce damage from Elements, and Negate Magic can nullify it entirely.
  • If the Green Plate was missed, Nostrums are essential for healing, alongside Diminish and Negate Magic.
Access to the Developers' Room within Viper Manor, featuring conversations with the development team and a sound test.
