Nikki's Path

Learn how to navigate the Shadow Forest and defeat Zoah, Solt, & Peppor to finally enter Viper Manor in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition.

Alright, so you've recruited Nikki and now it's time to tackle the Shadow Forest to get to Viper Manor. This path can be a bit tricky, so make sure you've stocked up on items and health before you dive in!

First things first, grab that Aroma Pouch. Head out of the underwater cave and hang a right. Use the pouch on a tree, and when you see that puff of pollen, head back into the cave. You'll find a little blue creature in there that will now follow you. Lead this little guy outside to the Quadfidd that's blocking your way. It'll eat it, but then you'll have to fight the Quadfidd itself.

Once you've taken down the Quadfidd, you can push forward through the Shadow Forest. Just before you reach the end, though, get ready for a boss fight!

Boss Battle: Zoah, Solt, & Peppor

This trio might look a little intimidating, especially with Zoah front and center, but they're here to teach you about Summon Elements. Don't let them overwhelm you!

• Defense: 0

• Element: Yellow

Solt Stats:

• HP: 80
• Attack: 9
• Magic Attack: 7
• Defense: 0
• Magic Defense: 0
• Element: Yellow

Peppor Stats:

• HP: 90
• Attack: 10
• Magic Attack: 5
• Defense: 0
• Magic Defense: 0
• Element: Yellow

Strategy:

Honestly, if you've been fighting monsters along the way for experience, this fight shouldn't be too tough. The key here is to take out Solt and Peppor first. They have a nasty combo attack that can really hurt, so getting rid of them quickly will prevent you from taking too much damage. Once they're down, you can focus on Zoah, who has the most HP.

With the boss battle out of the way, your path to Viper Manor is clear!

Entering Viper Manor with Nikki

Heading straight north will get you to the manor, but there's a catch: insects are pouring out of a hole in the wall, leading to a ton of random encounters. You can fight your way through, or you can take a shortcut.

Immediately go to the left and walk up the wall. You'll find a monster next to a boulder. Defeat it, and then you can push the boulder up the wall to plug the hole. This stops the stream of monsters, making your journey much smoother.

Once that's done, head back down and around. Now, walk up the water and go through the two entrances at the top. From here, it's a straight shot up to the grounds of Viper Manor!

You'll find a vine you can climb, which leads you right into the manor itself. You've made it!
