How to Use Trap Elements

Learn how to use Trap Elements in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. Discover how to obtain, assign, and effectively utilize these powerful battle mechanics.

Trap Elements in Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition function similarly to regular Elements but with unique properties. They are assigned to your Element Grid and have a fixed Level of 5, meaning they can only be placed in Level 5 slots.

How to Use:

1. Assign the Trap Element to your Element Grid in a Level 5 slot.
2. In battle, build your Elemental Power Level to the required amount.
3. Select the Trap Element to use it. It will affect all foes on the battlefield, and a Trap indicator will appear near the Field Effect display.
4. When a foe uses an Element that the trap is set for, that Element will automatically fail (dealing no damage) and be added to your inventory.
5. After the battle, the captured Element can be assigned to your characters as usual.

Trap Elements are excellent for mitigating damage from predictable enemy Elements and for obtaining powerful or hard-to-find Elements.

How to Obtain Trap Elements:

While some Trap Elements can be found in chests, the most efficient method is purchasing them. In the demi-human village of Marbule, located in the south-east, a vendor directly ahead of the entrance sells Element Traps.
