Opassa Beach: How to Defeat the Time Devourer (True Form): Chapter 26 For All Dreamers

Defeat the Time Devourer (True Form) in chrono cross the radical dreamers edition using the Chrono Cross Element or by depleting its 10,000 HP.

• Chrono Cross Element
• Level 1 Elements of all 6 colors (Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black, White) for all 3 party members
• Green Plate armor (optional, but recommended for the normal strategy)

Walkthrough:

The Time Devourer, now fused with Schala, is the final boss of chrono cross the radical dreamers edition. It has 10,000 HP and attacks using various Elements, starting with Green and eventually following a harmonic sequence: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black, and White. There are two main ways to defeat it.

1. Easy Way (using Chrono Cross):
   1. Allocate the Chrono Cross Element to Serge’s Element Grid at Level 1.
   2. Allocate Level 1 Elements of all 6 colors for all 3 party members. Turn Color Elements are a good choice.
   3. Warning: Defend until your Elemental Power Level is at least 3 for Serge and at least 2 for the others. The boss may cast Omega Green Elements. Consider equipping the Green Plate armor on characters likely to take heavy damage.
   4. Once your Elemental Power Level is sufficient, Defend until the Time Devourer casts its next Element.
   5. Have Serge cast a Level 1 Yellow Element.
   6. Have your other two characters cast Red, then Green Elements.
   7. Have Serge cast a Level 1 Blue Element.
   8. Quickly cast Black, followed by White Elements with your remaining characters.
   9. At this point, it should still be your turn. Have Serge cast Chrono Cross. If the sequence was correct, the battle will end, leading to the Good Ending.
2. Normal Way (depleting HP):
   1. This method is not recommended for a first playthrough unless you are aiming to collect all trophies/achievements, as it can be used to obtain the Bad Ending.
   2. The Time Devourer has 10,000 HP.
   3. To speed up this fight, especially for multiple endings, it is highly recommended to obtain multiple Green Plates. This can be done by:
      • Saving after obtaining the Green Plate and Chrono Cross, but before fighting the Time Devourer.
      • Defeat the Time Devourer using the Chrono Cross method to get the Good Ending.
      • When prompted, save your game in a different slot.
      • Load the newly created cleared save file and use Continue Plus on the save file with the Green Plate and Chrono Cross. This carries over Growth stars, gear, and Essences.
      • Return to Opassa Beach (any world) and use the Time Egg to fight the Time Devourer again.
      • Defeat it using the Chrono Cross method again.
      • Watch the ending and save over the previous cleared save file (not the Green Plate/Chrono Cross save).
      • Load the cleared save file and use Continue Plus to the Green Plate/Chrono Cross save. You will now have 3 Green Plates.
   4. Equip 3 party members with a Green Plate each. Use Rainbow weapons or the Mastermune for Serge/Twin Einlanzers for Glenn. Equip any useful accessories, such as the Power Seal. Accessories to nullify sprain and poison may also be helpful.
   5. Start the battle and turn on auto-battle. The party will take zero damage from the Time Devourer’s Green Elements for half the fight.
   6. When the Time Devourer uses a Yellow Element or anything other than Green, turn off auto-battle.
   7. If you are strong enough, you can heal, cast Diminish, and then re-enable auto-battle, healing occasionally.
   8. If you do not have the Green Plate, stock up on healing Elements like Recover All, Heal All, and Cure All. Also, bring Plus Elements that boost damage, such as Strengthen and Eagle Eye. Allocate a couple of Diminish Elements if concerned about damage.

Completing the fight normally leads to the Bad Ending. Using the Chrono Cross Element leads to the Good Ending.
