How to Recruit Turnip

Alright, so you want to add Turnip to your crew in Chrono Cross? It's a bit of a quirky process, but totally doable! The key thing to remember is that you'll need to have completed the Water Dragon Isle sidequest before you tackle Fort Dragonia. This is super important because it's how you get the Ice Breath item, which is crucial for this recruitment.

First things first, you'll need to head over to Hermit's Hideaway in Another World. Once you're there, keep an eye out for a dry patch of soil right around the center of the area. When you inspect it, the game will tell you it's too hot for anything to grow there. This is your signal! Use the Ice Breath item on that spot. This action essentially prepares the ground for Turnip's eventual arrival.

Now, here's the second part, which happens much later in the game. You'll need to have Serge back with you, and you absolutely must have Poshul in your party. Make your way back to Hermit's Hideaway, but this time you'll be in Home World. Go to that same patch of soil you found earlier. With Poshul there, she'll start digging, and lo and behold, she'll unearth Turnip, who will join your party right then and there!

Quick heads-up: Poshul is actually a missable character. If you didn't recruit her earlier in the game, you won't be able to recruit Turnip at all. So, make sure Poshul is on your team for this to work!
