Fort Dragonia Boss Battle: Taurusoid

Taurusoid hits hard in Chrono Cross! Learn its attacks, weaknesses, and the best strategy to defeat this Green Innate boss and get the Iceberg Element.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Innate: Green
• Weakness: Avoid Yellow Elements (heals Taurusoid). Do not use Green Elements if possible, as they won't be effective and can mess with the Field Effect.
• Resistances: Green Elements (though it's Green Innate, using Green Elements against it is generally not advised due to Field Effect manipulation and potential healing).

Phases:

1. Taurusoid has a few powerful physical attacks: Body Press, Backdrop, and Choke Slam. It can chain two of these together for massive damage (150+ HP to one party member).
2. If hit with a Yellow Element, Taurusoid will cast Heal All, restoring around 70 HP.

Strategy:

• Element Choice: Stick to Elements that are NOT Yellow or Green. Red, Blue, and Black Elements are your best bet.
• Field Effect: If you have excess Capsules, use them to try and turn the Field Effect Yellow. This will make Taurusoid's attacks hurt less. Conversely, try to remove any Green from the Field Effect.
• Party Composition: Bring Green Innate characters to help weaken Taurusoid's attacks. If you cured Kid's poison, Razzly is a great choice. If you forsook Kid, Glenn is an excellent alternative. NeoFio is also available on both routes. Just be sure they use Elements that aren't Green or Yellow.
• Healing and Revival: Keep your party's HP topped up at all times. Carry Revive Elements on multiple party members to quickly bring fallen allies back into the fight, as Taurusoid's chained attacks can be devastating.
• Optional Goal: Defeating Taurusoid is necessary to acquire the 16th growth star, which is required if you want to trap the Iceberg Element. If you don't need the Iceberg Element, you can opt to fight the easier Blue Crystal boss first and return later.

After the Fight:

Once Taurusoid is defeated, inspect the green crystal to deactivate it. This will activate the green dragon statue, creating a glowing green circle in the central room. You can then return to the central room and proceed to the next area.
