If you Let Kid Join

Honestly, this is probably the path most players will take, and it makes sense! Early in the game, you really want every ally you can get, and Kid is a super useful addition to your party. She's got a lot of spirit and can definitely hold her own in a fight.

However, there's a bit of a hidden catch here. By letting Kid join your party right away, you're essentially locking yourself out of recruiting Leena during this playthrough. That's right, you can't have both Kid and Leena in the same run. Also, if you missed the specific window to recruit Poshul earlier, you won't be able to get her either if Kid is with you.

Now, Leena isn't essential to beating the game, and you'll end up with a ton of other party members later on, so missing her isn't the end of the world. But, if you were really hoping to have Leena on your team, well, sorry about that! This choice means she's off the table for this playthrough.

If you Refuse Kid

This is the less common choice, for sure. If you're playing without a guide, I can't imagine many people saying no to Kid, especially since you have to turn her down a whopping three times before she finally gets the hint and backs off. It takes some persistence!

The funny thing is, choosing to refuse Kid actually comes with some nice upsides and pretty much no downsides in the long run. The main perk? This is the only way you can recruit Leena. If Kid isn't tagging along with you, Leena will happily join your party the very next day. Plus, Poshul will join too, even if you missed the earlier recruitment opportunity.

And don't worry too much about missing out on Kid if you refuse her initially. Once you reach the next town, which isn't too far off, you'll actually get another chance to recruit her! So, you can still have her on your team, just a little later down the line.

So, it's a trade-off: get Kid's help immediately but miss out on Leena (and potentially Poshul), or refuse Kid initially to guarantee Leena (and Poshul) and get a second shot at recruiting Kid later.
