Dario Sidequest: How to Obtain the Mastermune

Head west on Forbidden Island to find a hidden cottage.

Inside, speak with the armored man. If you have Riddel and the Memento Pendant, he will be revealed as Dario.

Dario will be overcome by a sinister presence and initiate a fight.

Warning: Dario is a difficult opponent who can deal significant damage with attacks like Dash & Gash and Sonic Sword. He also instantly counters all Elements with his own.

Dario's counter attacks depend on the Element you use: Red counters with Numble (lowers Evade), Blue with Weaken (lowers Attack), Green with LoRes (lowers Defense), Yellow with BatEye (lowers Hit rate), White with ConductaRod (Black damage + Cursed), and Black with Recover All (heals himself).

If you struggle, consider returning later with more Growth stars and better gear. Stealing the Black Plate from the Black Dragon and equipping it on Serge, then using White Elements, is a viable strategy.

Easy Way to Beat Dario: You can defeat Dario without taking damage by exploiting his counter-attack pattern.

Dario counters after every 7 actions (sometimes 6). Strong attacks count as 2 actions, Fierce as 3, and others as 1.

Perform 6 weak actions, then use a Red or Green Element. Red is recommended as it burns Dario, lowering his Defense.

Dario will counter with Numble, which does not affect you if you are not attacking directly.

Repeat this cycle: 6 weak actions followed by a Red Element.

Dario has over 3000 HP, so this method may take around 10 minutes.
