Fossil Valley Boss Battle: Solt & Peppor: Chapter Heading North

Alright, so you've made it to Fossil Valley and you're ready to take on Solt and Peppor again. Before you rush in, I highly recommend exploring the rest of Fossil Valley first. There are Dodos to fight and you can even get started on finding Skelly's body parts. Once you feel like you've seen everything the valley has to offer, head back to the highest point you've reached, go down the ladder, and follow the path to the west. You'll find Solt and Peppor right there, blocking your way forward.

They'll immediately demand a rematch, so get ready!

How to Defeat Solt & Peppor

This fight is basically a tutorial for the Turn Elements system, specifically showing you how Black and White Elements work together. The game wants you to use an Element on one of your characters, and then follow up with an attack that uses the opposite color Element for a big boost.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Solt: HP: 80, Attack: 9, Defense: 7, Magic Attack: 0, Magic Defense: 0, Element: Yellow
• Peppor: HP: 90, Attack: 10, Defense: 5, Magic Attack: 0, Magic Defense: 0, Element: Yellow

Phases:

This is a single-phase boss fight.

Strategy:

• Don't skip the dialogue! Even though they fumble through the explanation, it's actually teaching you a key battle mechanic.
• Pay attention to the Turn Elements. Using an Element of one color and then following up with an attack of the opposite color will give you a significant advantage.
• Honestly, even if you don't focus too much on the Turn Elements, you should be able to take them down pretty quickly. This isn't a super tough battle, so just focus on whittling down their health.
• Once they're defeated, the path ahead will open up, and you can finally exit Fossil Valley to the north.
