118 Building Up to an Attack

You'll start this quest by speaking with Gao Jia in Evermore. He's heard some construction noises near the kingdom's borders but found nothing when investigating. He'll send you to investigate further.

Head northwest of Evermore to find a scout. Speaking with them will trigger a skirmish flag for a level 44 battle. If your units aren't quite ready, don't worry! You can fight a bit, retreat to level up, and try again until you're confident.

The first major obstacle is a group of five siege towers to your west. Approach them from the north or south to stay out of their immediate firing range.

Once those are dealt with, you'll face another five siege towers and two cannons. These cannons have a much longer range, so it's a good idea to get behind the towers and take them out first. Remember, you can always retreat to recover your troops if things get too hairy.

After clearing the second group of artillery, consider rebuilding the two cannons you destroyed. These can help distract the cannons in the next wave.

The third set of artillery includes more towers and cannons. You can approach this group through the gate, but it's often better to go around the back to deal with the last ones.

One cannon sits on a hill. You might need to rebuild a tower or cannon nearby to get a better angle on it.

With all the artillery neutralized, the boss, Fabricas, will appear right next to you. He's accompanied by two shield units and two ranged units. Focus your attacks on him to end the battle.

Once Fabricas is defeated, return to Gao Jia in Evermore to report your findings and complete the quest.
