Hey there! As you start your adventure in Ni no Kuni II, getting around and finding cool stuff is super important. Let's break down the basics of exploration so you don't miss out on anything!

Trip Doors

You'll notice these glowing blue circles on the ground as you explore. Think of them as your fast travel points! The game introduces them to you early on, usually in Chapter 2. When you see one, just walk up to it and press the [X] button. This 'remembers' the door for you. Later, you can open your map by pressing the [Options] button twice or holding it down, and then select any Trip Door you've activated to warp there instantly. Keep an eye out, because bigger towns and dungeons will have multiple Trip Doors, making it way easier to get around!

Optional Content

Once you get a bit further into the main story, you'll unlock Sidequests. These pop up all over the place, but you'll find most of them in the major towns or even in your own kingdom. The easiest way to spot them is by looking for the little exclamation points (!) on your map. While you can tackle most of these as soon as they appear, some might need items you won't get until later in the game. Don't worry too much about that for now, just keep an eye on those map markers!

Beyond Sidequests, there's more cool stuff to discover. You'll encounter something called Swift Solutions, which involves doing Errands. These are basically fetch quests where you'll earn 'Tokens of Gratitude.' You can take these tokens to the Swift Solutions NPC to recruit new citizens for your kingdom or trade them for useful items. You might also stumble upon locked doors in dungeons called Dreamer's Doors. These lead to randomized dungeons known as Dreamer's Mazes. The enemies in these mazes get tougher as a 'Danger Level' meter fills up, but the rewards can be pretty amazing if you're up for the challenge!
