12. THE GUILD AND MISSIONS

Alright, let's talk about the Guild and its missions in Resonance of Fate. Think of these as your side quests, offering extra Rubies and some seriously cool items. Plus, they're a great way to really soak in the world and meet the folks living in Basel. You'll find the Guild board in Ebel City, but keep in mind there are also Guilds in Cranktown (on Level 7) and Albona (on Level 10) that offer their own missions.

These missions come in all sorts of flavors: some want you to fetch a specific item, others might have you hunting down a particular enemy, and sometimes you'll even need to report back to a client to wrap things up. The game's structure is built around 16 main chapters, each with a story mission that pushes the plot forward. These story missions automatically pop up at the start of a chapter and often come with unique dialogue as you travel or fight.

Here's a key thing to remember: if you've finished the main story mission for a chapter but still have other Guild missions pending, the game will actually prompt you to check those out before you can advance to the next chapter. So, don't get stuck thinking you're done when there's still more to do!

The Guild board itself is pretty dynamic. It'll only show you 3 missions at a time. Once you complete those, more will become available. It's a bit of a staggered system, so don't expect to see everything all at once. If a chapter happens to have 5 sidequests available, you'll need to complete 2 of the initial 3 missions before those additional ones unlock. You've got some freedom here to pick and choose which ones you want to tackle.

Now, if you're diving into a New Game + playthrough, maybe aiming for that Platinum trophy, you generally don't need to repeat these Guild missions unless you're looking to stock up on specific accessories or other goodies, or if you missed some the first time around. Completing just the story missions is enough to finish the game on a subsequent playthrough.
