Walkthrough

    Head to the Guild to obtain two additional missions.

    Talk to the Staffer outside the Guild to start the Power Station mission (requires Energy Hex reward from Garden Party).

    Talk to Daniel at the shop to start his mission.

    The Boutique is now open; note that purchased clothes disappear from inventory and are designed for Vashyron, Zephyr, and Leanne only.

    Fight more battles on the Back Alley to obtain Energy Hexes.

    Attempt battles on the Closed Road terrain when the path to Hughes Power Station is open.

    In the first room of Hughes Power Station, you will face a Machinegun Gear Lv 13 and two Stray Curs Lv 5. To defeat them easily, do not move at the start of the battle and let the dogs approach you.

    Focus on the Machinegun Gear once the Stray Curs are dealt with, moving closer if necessary to get within shooting range.

    Use Metal-Coated Rounds with your Machinegun (MG) and hero run (a quick dash) when close enough for bonus shots.

    Obtain a Scrapped Machinegun MS (may require multiple battles).

    Fight three battles in the Arena to complete the first Rank and open the next.

    Head to the Tinkerer to make the MG High Barrel using the Scrapped Machinegun MS.
Tips
  • The Stray Curs deal around 250 HP damage, which is significant at level 4.
  • Hero running is less effective when enemies are far away as you won't get much charge.
  • Fighting the enemies in Hughes Power Station grants more experience than lower-level world map enemies.
  • Keep up with the Arena rank by rank; doing it all later becomes tedious.
  • The MG High Barrel provides an additional 2% charge acceleration for your MG, assuming you have the Expander Barrel and Sub-Barrel equipped.
  • To remove a part already equipped on a gun, scroll down to the part in red, press X to select it, and then press Circle to cancel.
  • The MG High Barrel is a worthwhile investment for the upcoming boss, even though it has no extensions and will eventually be replaced.
