Behind Enemy Lines

Your step-by-step guide to completing the 'Behind Enemy Lines' quest in Mass Effect: Andromeda, including finding Kett stragglers and clearing their hidden cave.

Alright, so you've been doing some work for Reyes and Sloane on Kadara, and things are mostly smoothed over... for now. SAM's probably nudged you to chat with Kaetus at Outcast HQ, and he's got a new lead for you. Turns out Sloane's victory over the Kett might not be as total as she thought. There are whispers of Kett stragglers still kicking around in the badlands. Sounds like a job for the Pathfinder, right? Let's go check it out.

First things first, head to the badlands. The quickest way is to fast travel to the Sulfur Springs Forward Station. From there, you'll want to drive southeast towards the waypoint Kaetus gave you. The mountains can be a bit of a pain, but just follow the road south until you hit a fork, then head east. When you get close to the navpoint, ditch the Nomad and head north on foot into the wilderness. You're looking for a sacked shuttle. When you find it, you'll also find a mortally wounded Angara nearby. Talk to this Angaran Trader; he'll confirm that Kett raiding parties are indeed active on Kadara and will give you a nudge in the right direction.

Now, head back south to the road. Near the next navpoint, get out and scan the area. You're looking for tracks. Scan them, then hop back in the Nomad and drive west towards another navpoint. More tracks will be waiting for you there – scan those too. The third set of tracks is further west-southwest, so make your way over and scan them. This final scan will give you a fourth navpoint, which is where the Kett are holed up. Drive south, past an outlaw camp, and you'll find a pretty large cave. Head inside.

Once you're in the cave, you'll find a door. Open it up, and you'll discover the Kett camp. You're not alone in this fight; Sloane Kelly and Kaetus themselves will show up to lend some support, though no extra troops. After a bit of a tense encounter, you'll be thrown into a fight against the Kett. Expect to face two Anointed, two Destined, and a bunch of Chosen. Take them all down to wrap up this quest. You'll score 73 AVP, boost Kadara's viability by 5%, and get 530 XP for your trouble.

Before you jet, make sure to loot the Kett camp thoroughly. The cavern opens up in two directions. If you head southeast, you'll find four containers and a Lithium node. The eastern branch is a bit less rewarding, but you can still find an Iridium deposit there. Oh, and if you want, you can have a quick chat with Sloane before you leave, though don't expect her to be any friendlier.
