Guide to completing 'The Firefighters' quest in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Learn how to deal with the anti-AI faction, find clues, and disarm Knight.

Alright, so you've stumbled upon 'The Firefighters' quest in Mass Effect: Andromeda. It's one of those that starts early but you can't really wrap up until later, which is a bit annoying, but hey, at least we can blast through it all at once now that you're back on Kadara. First things first, head back to the Nexus. Any excuse to go back there is a good one, right? Make your way to the Docking Bay, then get up to the second level. Look for Doctor Aridana in the Tech Lab. Turns out she's been poking around the Scourge and wants to use SAM, your super-AI buddy, as a giant calculator. Sounds totally safe, so agree to help her out, and she'll hand you a disc.

Now, jet over to the SAM Node on the Habitation Deck and plug that disc in. Yeah, I know, who could have possibly seen a malicious code problem coming from a physical disc plugged into a high-tech AI? After SAM has a bit of a struggle, you'll get a holographic message telling you to mess with some Reset Panels. There are two to the south and one to the north. Head south first, interact with the panel on the left, then turn around and hit the northern one. Finally, go back south and interact with the panel on the right. After that, head back to the central SAM Node console to have a chat with SAM and figure out what just happened.

Time to confront Doctor Aridana back in the Tech Lab. She'll play innocent, but one of her buddies will spill the beans about some anti-AI group causing trouble. Figures. Leave the Tech Lab, head down a ramp, and go northeast. You'll find a VI named Avina spouting anti-AI nonsense. Talk to her, and a hacker will start communicating through the VI. They think their virus worked and that you're happy SAM's gone. So, play along! SAM will suggest a role, and the hacker will mention someone named 'Knight,' the leader of this crusade. The seed is planted, but we'll have to wait for future correspondence to see where this goes.
