Get ready to explore Havarl in Mass Effect: Andromeda! Learn about the planet's unique challenges, hyper-mutated wildlife, and the Roekaar rebels you'll face.

Hey there! So, you've landed on Havarl in Mass Effect: Andromeda. This place is pretty unique, not just visually, but gameplay-wise too. Unlike planets like Eos or Voeld, Havarl's got a much smaller area to explore. And forget about using the Nomad here – the thick vegetation and all those Remnant structures make it pretty impractical, even if you could deploy it.

The map itself is split in two by a huge Remnant trench running north to south. You'll be dealing with the western two-thirds of the map more than the eastern third. Don't worry about environmental hazards like on other planets, but the malfunctioning vault here has cooked up a different kind of problem: seriously mutated wildlife.

While the overgrown plants might slow you down, it's the critters that are really going to get in your way. Keep an eye out for Drall, Creeper, Shemrys, Adhi, Challyrion, Galorn, Rylkor, and Eiroch. Havarl has more diverse and abundant wildlife than anywhere else, so expect to fight bigger groups, especially those pesky packs of Challyrion.

It's not just the wildlife, though. The Remnant are here, as usual. What's different is that you won't see many Kett. Instead, you'll be dealing with the Roekaar, some pretty xenophobic Angaran rebels who don't really care if you're Angara or from the Milky Way – they'll treat you like an enemy either way.

Since the Nomad's out of the picture, you can't deploy probes or hit up Mining Zones. You can still find valuable resources, though. Focus on finding Nickel and Platinum nodes, which are pretty common. Also, keep an eye out for bits of Angaran tech to scan and loot to plunder. There's a lot of history buried under all that greenery, and it's a great way to make some extra credits.

Finally, let's talk quests. Havarl doesn't have a ton of them, which makes sense given the planet's size. A good chunk of these are scavenger hunts, asking you to find specific items scattered across the map. It's best to tackle these while you're doing other things. The main quest, and the bulk of Havarl's viability, comes from "A Dying Planet." This mission tasks you with getting Havarl's vault back online. There's no real reason to put it off; you'll unlock more quests during and after it, and it'll take you all over the planet, giving you plenty of opportunities to knock out those other quest objectives.
