Forgotten History (Kadara)

Learn how to find the Angaran Artifact on Kadara for the Forgotten History quest in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Includes driving directions and climbing tips.

Alright, so you're working on the "Forgotten History" quest in Mass Effect: Andromeda, and you've already snagged an artifact from Havarl. Now it's time to get the one on Kadara. The guide mentions another artifact on Voeld as part of "Uncovering the Past," and honestly, you should totally grab that one while you're doing that quest. It's way easier than coming back later. This guide's gonna assume you've already got the Voeld artifact.

The Kadara artifact is out in the open, but it's gonna take some driving and a bit of a hike. Start from the wind farm and head northwest. You'll hit a fork in the road near some old Remnant ruins – take the northeast path. You'll find another fork soon after; this time, hang a northwest and follow the mountain road. It's a bit narrow, but it'll eventually lead you to the northwestern part of the map, a spot called "Kurinth's Valley." The road actually ends here.

Once you're in Kurinth's Valley, look north. You'll see a toxic lake. The artifact you're after is up in the mountains northwest of that lake, past some hills that are blocking your view. For a landmark, these mountains are southeast of where those two stoned Outlaws hang out (you know, from the "Emergency S.O.S." quest). Even though they're close, it's best to approach the artifact location from the east, south, or west. The slopes are way less steep from those directions than from the north.

You'll need to scale a hill to get to a ruined Angaran shrine. Just run and jump your way up to the navpoint on top of the mountain. Once you're there, you'll find the shrine. The artifact, which is actually an "Ancient Angaran Musical Instrument," is just sitting on the ground. Grab it!

Before you bounce, make sure to loot a nearby container – there's usually some good stuff in those. After that, head down the slope to the west or northwest. There's more loot to be found down there. You might notice the ruined structure you find down there looks like a weird mix of Angaran and Remnant architecture. Pretty wild, right?

With the Kadara artifact in hand (and hopefully the Voeld one too!), head back to Aya. Find Avela Kjar in the Repository of History. Talk to her, and she'll be super excited about the artifacts. Keep chatting with her, and after she comments on them, the "Forgotten History" quest will go dormant. Nice job!
