Using Special Moves

Alright, so you've probably noticed those flashy 'Special Moves' in Bravely Second, right? They're not just for show; they can seriously turn the tables in a tough fight! But here's the kicker: you can't just spam them whenever you feel like it. They're 'special' for a reason!

How to Use Special Moves:

To even get a Special Move to show up, you first need to meet its trigger conditions in battle. Think of it like building up a meter. For instance, to unlock a Level 1 Special Move, you'll need to use the Brave command a total of 10 times. Don't worry, you can check and even change these trigger conditions in the Special menu. Once you've hit the requirement, the Special command will pop up in your character's command list. You might even see it blinking – the faster it blinks, the higher the level of Special Moves you've unlocked!

When your character's turn comes up, you can select the Special Move you want to use. These moves pack a punch, with many dealing massive damage, some healing your whole party, and others debuffing the enemies. The best part? They count as regular actions, so you can use multiple Special Moves in one turn, or even combine them with Brave! Just remember, once a character uses a Special Move, they'll need to meet the trigger condition again before they can use another.

The Music Buff:

Here's a really cool part: after you use a Special Move, the battle music changes! While this special tune is playing, your whole party gets a temporary buff to their stats. The strength of this buff depends on the Special Move you used. Ideally, you'll want to input your commands quickly during this music to take full advantage of these awesome buffs – they can seriously change the course of a battle!

Want to keep the party going? You can actually chain Special Moves together to prolong the music and keep those buffs active. Just as the music is about to fade, quickly use another Special Move to reset the timer and keep the buffs rolling! And if you run out of your own Special Moves, don't forget about friend summons. They can use Special Moves too, and their moves will also trigger that morale-boosting music.
