Having pals in the game makes things a lot more interesting, especially when you can call on their characters for help in battle or even borrow their learned abilities. There are two main ways to add friends: locally if they're right next to you, or over the internet if they're further afield.

Adding Friends Locally:

If you've got a friend with you who's also playing Bravely Second, this is the way to go. You'll both need to select the Register via Local Wireless option. Then, one of you will pick “Host Unit” and the other will choose “Client Unit.” It's pretty straightforward once you're in the menu.

Adding Friends Online:

For friends who aren't physically with you, you'll use the Register via Internet option. Just make sure your 3DS or 2DS is connected to the internet. The game will then check your system's Friend List for other Bravely Second players and add them automatically. Super convenient!

Quick Note on Friend Codes:

Just a reminder, to get people onto your 3DS or 2DS Friend List in the first place, you'll need to exchange those 12-digit friend codes. You can find your own code and see your friends' codes by tapping the little smiley face icon at the top of your 3DS or 2DS Home menu. Don't forget to add your friends there first!

Why Bother With Friends? The Benefits!

• Summon Friend: In battle, you can use the Summon Friend option to call upon your friends' characters. The more you use a specific friend's summon, the more affinity you build with them, making their summons even stronger next time. It's like a little boost from your pals!
• Abilink: This is found under the Tactics menu in your party screen. With Abilink, you can link one of your characters with a friend.
