Walkthrough
- 1Begin in Moonwood. Kill Orcs and other creatures. Avoid the western cave for now (it's for the Supply Lines quest). Find Ixaristu and Uthgardt Warriors in a campsite and speak with them for information.
- 2Head to the north-east corner of Moonwood to find Deeper Moonwood. There are two caves: one in the middle (Akulatraxas the Dragon's cave) and one to the west (Hill Giant Lair).
- 3Before entering the Hill Giant Lair, speak with Akulatraxas to get her quest. Then, enter the Hill Giant Lair and retrieve the chief's head. (Refer to Akulatraxas' quest section for details). It is advised to collect her eggs after completing her quest.
- 4Proceed into the Spine of the World region in the north.
- 5Kill Cultists and Trolls. Beware of Fire Giants. There are three caves: a Mysterious Cave (east), a western cave, and a northern cave.
- 6Enter the Mysterious Cave (east) to find Gorgotha the Gold Dragon. Speak with her to accept her quest to bring her Klauth's head. Do NOT attempt to open the door to her eggs, as she will become hostile. Gorgotha's quest is tied to the main quest.
- 7In the western cave of the Spine of the World, search a corpse for the Tome of the Ring and a pile of rubble for a Dragon Scale (required for Boddyknock's Tale).
- 8Enter the northern cave to find the Fire Giants Lair. This is a large area filled with Fire Giants and Duergar Rogues.
- 9Explore the Fire Giant Lair. Cross a bridge over lava, open a gate, and find the map pin East to Fire Giant Domain. In the north-west corner, find the North to Fire Giant Domain. South of this area, find and free the Orc Wogar from a prison by pulling a lever. Speak with him for information.
- 10Go to the North Fire Giant Domain. Kill more Duergars and Fire Giants. In the north-west corner room, find two prisoners. Speak with them and escort them if you wish. Open an armoire to find The Ritual book. If the prisoners follow you, they may turn hostile; kill them for experience.
- 11In an eastern room of the North Fire Giant Domain, an Ogre will smash four Summoning Shrines.
- 12Return to the main level and head to the East Fire Giant Domain. Kill Fire Giants, Hell Hounds, and Huge Fire Elementals. Find Deeper Cave entrances on the right. Klauth's Lair is the bottom one.
- 13Go to the big south-west room and kill King Strogg. Search his remains for the Pass Amulet (required for Klauth's Lair) and a duplicate Ritual Book.
- 14Head east and enter the northernmost Deep Cave, which is a Slaad Cavern. Kill Gray Slaads and ignore Red Slaads unless they surround you. In the middle of the chamber, behind a gate, is the Death Slaad Lord. Be wary of his insta-kill fire vortex spell.
- 15Return to the lair above and enter the middle Deeper Cave, which is a Dragon Dungeon. Kill Yuan-Tis. The text cuts off here, implying further interaction with a Blue Dragon and a Dragon Orb Pedestal.
Tips
- Bring plenty of good equipment and healing items.
- Be cautious of Fire Giants; they are resilient and powerful.
