Hey there! So you want to trade some Pokémon? It's a super useful feature in Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! for snagging those exclusive or rare Pokémon, and even for evolving some of your buddies that only evolve when traded. Let's get you set up!

First things first, when you want to trade, you'll need to head to the main menu and select the “Link Trade” option.

This will take you straight to your Pokémon Box. From here, you'll pick out the one Pokémon you want to offer up for the trade.

As you're doing this, you'll be able to see what Pokémon your trading partner has currently selected, usually shown near the top of the screen.

Once you've made your choice and your partner has too, you'll select “Offer as a trade”.

Now, you'll see a few options pop up. You can confirm the trade by selecting “Trade Pokémon”, or if you want to double-check what your partner is offering, you can select “Check offered Pokémon”. Keep in mind, these options only become active and visible once your partner has actually picked a Pokémon to trade. Until then, they'll be greyed out.

Tips

Remember, there's no built-in communication system within the game itself when you're trading. If you're trading with someone right next to you, just chat in person! If you're trading online with a friend, you can always message them separately. But if you end up trading with a random stranger, well, you'll just have to hope for the best!
Trading is essential for completing your Pokédex, as some Pokémon are version-exclusive (meaning they only appear in either Pikachu or Eevee).
Don't forget that some Pokémon, like Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler, and Haunter, will evolve into their next forms *only* after being traded. So, if you've got one of these, trading is the only way to get its evolved form!
