Cerulean Cave

Cerulean Cave is a post-game dungeon located north-west of Cerulean City. It can be accessed by flying on a compatible Pokémon or by following the canal from Route 24.

Before entering, you can battle Coach Trainer Harjit, who guards the entrance. He uses a team of Level 52 Pokémon: Rhydon, Rapidash, Nidoking, Dewgong, and Seaking. His Pokémon know Megahorn, a powerful Bug-type move. Harjit will gift you TM60 Megahorn upon defeat.

Wild Pokémon

The cave is home to a variety of Pokémon, with different spawn rates and locations on each floor:

• Floor 1F & 2F: Chansey (10%), Psyduck (5%), Rhydon (5% B1F-1F, 10% 2F), Rhyhorn (10%), Lickitung (10% B1F-1F, 15% 2F), Ditto (5%), Golduck (15% B1F-1F), Graveler (15% B1F-1F, 20% 2F), Geodude (10% B1F-1F, 5% 2F), Golbat (15% B1F-1F, 20% 2F), Zubat (10% B1F-1F, 5% 2F)
• Water's Surface: Poliwrath (1%), Poliwhirl (9%), Poliwag (45%), Magikarp (45%)
• Rare Spawn: Snorlax

Floor 1F Walkthrough

Start near the south-east corner. Head north towards a subterranean canal. Use Sea Skim to travel along the canal towards the north-east corner and pick up the PP Max near the ladder. You can ascend to 2F here, but other ladders also lead to the same floor.

Return to the canal and head west to the north-west corner. Land and go up a slope. Ignore the nearby ladder and grab the Max Repel to its left. Head south on the higher ground. In an isolated section with two ladders, search below to find a hidden Rare Candy. Continue south, ignore the next ladder, and go down the slope. Head east to retrieve the Full Heal near the water, then climb the slope on the right back to higher ground.

Follow this higher ground anti-clockwise. In the bottom-right corner, near the entrance, search for a hidden Full Restore. Head north to find a Max Revive. You can then proceed to the final ladder in the center. Climb any of the five ladders on this floor to reach 2F.

Floor 2F Walkthrough

You will arrive on 2F regardless of which ladder you took from 1F. This floor has six ladders; the one in the far north-west corner leads to the next area. The other five return you to 1F.

Starting from the north-west ladder, head east along the northern wall. Collect items, including a Max Lure halfway across. Continue to the north-east corner, where a ladder leads back towards the entrance. Head south along the eastern wall, picking up a Full Restore around the 3 o'clock position. Continue south-west from there to find a Max Revive near raised ground.
