Master Route 18 in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee! Discover wild Pokemon, battle Bird Keepers, and find hidden items on your journey to Fuchsia City.
Alright, so you're heading towards Fuchsia City and need to get through Route 18. It's a pretty straightforward path, connecting Route 17 to the city itself. As you arrive from Route 17, you'll see flower beds on either side. Take a moment to check out the second bunch of flowers on the left – there's a little surprise hidden there: some Silver Berries! After grabbing those, just follow the path east. You'll eventually hit a gatehouse. Feel free to head upstairs if you're curious, but the main path continues through.
Once you're through the gatehouse, you're technically back in Route 18, closer to Fuchsia City. Keep an eye out to your right; there's a small gap in the wooden fence you can slip through. Now, this is where you need to be a little careful. There's a Bird Keeper here who's pretty territorial. He'll be looking right, then down, so if you time it right, you can sneak past him without a battle. It's a good way to save some energy if you're up for the challenge!
Bird Keeper Wilton
If you don't manage to sneak past, or just want the challenge, you'll have to face Bird Keeper Wilton. He's got a Level 39 Fearow and a Level 39 Dodrio. His Fearow uses Drill Run, so be a bit wary if you're using Electric or Rock-types. His Dodrio has Jump Kick, which can also pack a punch against Rock-types. So, maybe bring out some Pokémon that resist Normal and Flying types, or have good coverage against them.
After Wilton, you'll find another patch of tall grass. This area is crawling with bird Pokémon, so be ready for some wild encounters. To avoid another trainer, you can stick to the top of the area. If you decide to head left along the bottom, you'll run into another Bird Keeper.
Bird Keeper Ramiro
This is Bird Keeper Ramiro, and he's got a Level 39 Pidgeot. It's pretty much fully evolved, but honestly, it seems to just spam Air Slash. If you've got a Pokémon with Disable, you could totally shut down its main attack! It's a good opportunity to practice some strategic move usage.
Keep heading left, and you'll find the last Bird Keeper in this stretch. You can usually avoid him by not walking directly in front of him, or by sticking close to the bottom edge of the screen. Just to his left, you can find a pretty useful item: an Elixir! Definitely grab that; they're super handy for keeping your Pokémon's PP up on longer journeys.
Bird Keeper Jacob
Next up is Bird Keeper Jacob, and he's got a bit of a theme going on – three Level 39 Farfetch'd! The first two have priority moves, meaning they'll likely attack before you can. So, be prepared for them to strike first. The last Farfetch'd is a bit different; it uses Sky Attack, which takes a turn to charge up. This is your chance! You should be able to take it down easily before it gets a chance to unleash that powerful move.
Once you've dealt with Jacob, you're pretty much done with Route 18. Just head east from the gatehouse, and you'll find yourself arriving in Fuchsia City. Time to relax and explore!
