Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering Silph Co. on Floor 1F, you will be called over by a receptionist. Your rival will then appear, followed by another familiar face. You must battle the previous Kanto region Champion, Blue, to prove your resolve.
- 2Pokémon Trainer Blue:
- Exeggutor (Level 38, Grass/Psychic): Weak to Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Ghost, Dark, and takes quadruple damage from Bug. Uses Power Whip, Psychic, and Light Screen.
- 3Charizard (Level 40, Fire/Flying): Weak to Water, Electric, and doubly weak to Rock. Uses Heat Wave, Air Slash, and Slash. Rock-types are recommended.
- 4After defeating Blue, pick up the X Sp. Atk item on the southern side of the central fountain.
- 5Head to the north-east corner of 1F. Take the stairs upstairs or ride the lift to 5F.
- 6On Floor 5F, ignore the Juggler to your right. Go left, past the teleporter pad, to encounter Archer and a Rocket Grunt. Your rival will intervene, leading to a 2 vs 2 Multi Battle.
- 7Team Rocket Archer and Team Rocket Grunt:
- Archer's Pokémon: Electrode (Level 37, Electric), Weezing (Level 37, Poison), Golbat (Level 37, Poison/Flying).
- 8Rocket Grunt's Pokémon: Muk (Level 34, Poison), Raticate (Level 34, Normal).
- 9Your rival will assist you. Focus on Electrode first, as it can use Thunderbolt and Self-Destruct.
- 10Archer's Weezing uses Sludge Bomb, Flamethrower, and Dark Pulse. Ground-types are recommended, but Psychic-types with high health can manage.
- 11Archer's Golbat uses Air Slash and Crunch. Electric, Ice, and Rock-types are effective.
- 12The Grunt's Muk uses Toxic, Screech, Minimize, and Protect. Body Slam can counter Minimize.
- 13The Grunt's Raticate uses priority moves like Sucker Punch.
- 14After the battle, you will receive the Card Key, which is essential for exploring Silph Co.
- 15You can now choose to proceed directly to the chairman's room or explore the building. To explore systematically, return to the lift and ride it to 2F.
- 16On Floor 2F, starting from the lift entrance, ignore the teleporter to the left (it leads to 8F). Head right from the lift.
- 17A Team Rocket Grunt blocks the entrance to a lounge. Battle him.
- 18Team Rocket Grunt:
- Raticate (Level 33, Normal): Uses Super Fang (halves current HP) and Sucker Punch.
- 19After defeating the Grunt, enter the lounge. Another Grunt is watching TV and will battle you if you approach.
- 20Team Rocket Grunt:
- Koffing (Level 33, Poison) x3: Uses Self-Destruct and Toxic. Ground or Psychic moves are effective. Steel-types resist its Poison moves.
Tips
- Blue's Charizard is especially weak to Rock-type attacks.
- Ground-types are recommended against Archer's Weezing.
- Steel-types are immune to the Poison-type moves used by the Grunt's Koffing.
- Teleporter pads are present throughout Silph Co., but most are not necessary for progression.
