Explore Cerulean City in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee! Find items, battle your rival, and prepare for the next Gym with this walkthrough.
Alright, welcome to Cerulean City! After leaving the Underground Path, you'll find yourself back outside. The next Gym, which holds the Cascade Badge, is just to the right of the Pokémon Center. If you're itching to challenge it, you can skip ahead, but I recommend we do a little sightseeing first. To the south of the Gym, you'll see the Poké Mart – swing by if you need to restock on any supplies. You'll need to go around from the left to reach it.
Now, let's head to the far south-west corner of the city. This is the home of the Bike Maniac! He won't give you a Bicycle, sadly, but if you check out the three bikes inside and listen to his stories, he'll hook you up with 5 Heart Scales. They're super useful for teaching your Pokémon forgotten moves later on!
Next, make your way to the north-west corner and pop into the house on the left. Inside, a guy will chat with you about the 8 Gym Badges you'll be collecting. Go past him and through the doorway. Out back, grab the Rare Candy waiting for you in the far corner. After that, head back out, go east, and then north from the Pokémon Center.
Keep heading east, and you'll see a house that was recently robbed by Team Rocket. A policewoman is standing guard outside, so we'll ignore that for now and head north towards that fancy-looking bridge. Just before you get there, your rival is going to come running down to challenge you to a battle!
Rival Battle!
Here's what your rival is bringing to the fight:
- Pidgey - Level 12 (Normal/Flying)
- Oddish - Level 12 (Grass/Poison)
- Eevee (Let's Go Pikachu) / Pikachu (Let's Go Eevee) - Level 13
Your rival starts with Pidgey. This is a great chance to use an Electric-type like your partner Pikachu, or a Rock-type if you've got one. Honestly, it's pretty weak, so you can probably brute force it.
Next up is Oddish. This one's a bit tricky if you're playing Let's Go Eevee, since Oddish isn't easily found. Fire-types or Flying-types work well here. If you're playing Let's Go Pikachu, your partner Pikachu can handle it with its Electric attacks.
Finally, he'll bring out his starter Pokémon. If you're facing his Eevee, a Fighting-type like Mankey is your best bet. If you're up against his Pikachu, Ground-types like Geodude will do the trick. Of course, you can always use your own partner Pokémon to take on his starter!
Once he's defeated and runs off, continue north to the next area. You're almost there!
