Black City

Learn how to reach Black City in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, including access requirements and the path from Undella Town or Nimbasa City. Discover the Black Tower!

Alright, so you've made it to the post-game and you're looking to check out Black City. To get there, you'll need to either be playing Pokémon Black 2 or have snagged the Tower Key from someone who is playing Black 2. Once you've got that sorted, there are a couple of ways to get to the city itself.

Your first option is to head south from Undella Town. From there, you'll travel through Route 14. If you haven't explored Route 14 yet, you might want to check out our guide for that section, titled To Gym 7 (Part 1).

Alternatively, you can make your way east from Nimbasa City. This route will take you through Route 16, then across the Marvelous Bridge, and finally onto Route 15. We've got Route 16 covered in the To Gym 3 section, and we'll be detailing the other two locations soon!

Once you arrive in Black City, especially if it's your first visit, you'll be impressed by how urban it feels. Make your way south until you spot the bright red roof of the Pokémon Center. Head inside to heal up your Pokémon and grab any necessary items. You know, the usual pit stop!

Back outside, you might expect a lot to do, but honestly, for such a massive place, there's surprisingly little going on. For now, let's focus on what there is. Head to the path just west of the Pokémon Center.

If you follow this path west to the intersection and then continue west along the road, you'll eventually reach a gate. Going through that gate will lead you to Route 15. If you're eager to explore that area, feel free to head over there now.

However, if you want to stick around Black City for a bit longer, there's one main attraction. Go back to the path west of the Pokémon Center, but this time, follow it north. When you reach the point where the path turns west and then immediately north again, keep going north along that path. You'll eventually arrive at a huge building – this is the Black Tower, which is where you'll find the Unova Challenge.

Just west of the Pokémon Center, you'll also notice a large black building with orange accents. This is the market, and it'll start opening up its shops as you make progress in the Black Tower. It doesn't have anything to offer the very first time you enter Black City, though. So, you can either jump into the Unova Challenge right away or head over to Route 15 if you're not quite ready for battle.
