PWT: To Gym

Your guide to the Pokémon World Tournament (PWT) in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. Find items like Ether, PP Up!, and Zinc, and meet Move Tutors.

Alright, let's get you to the Pokémon World Tournament (PWT) building! It's a pretty important spot, and you'll need to head there to advance the story. Before we dive in, there are a few useful things to grab around the area.

First things first, head south from where you are and whip out your Dowsing MCHN. You'll want to turn it on at the corner of the path. It'll ping a hidden item to your south. Follow its directions, and you'll snag a hidden Ether. Once you've got that, head back to the main path and go east.

As you move east, you'll see three stalls. The one furthest north on the path will tell you a Pokémon's Hidden Power type – pretty neat if you're into that! The stall owner south of the path on the left is super handy; they can help any of your Pokémon relearn old moves they might have forgotten. The stall owner right next to them lets your Pokémon forget any move they know. Definitely use these if you need to tweak your team's moveset!

Once you're done with the stalls, keep heading east towards the main Pokemon World Tournament building. You'll see Hugh and Clay chilling outside. They'll have a quick chat, and then you'll all head inside together.

After you're inside, Clay will chat with a trainer about the upcoming Driftveil Tournament. He'll head in, and Hugh will be right behind him. You'll eventually need to go in too to progress, but there are a couple of items outside you might want to grab first.

Exit the building and head back to the intersection in front of it. Take the path south this time, which leads you onto the docks. When you reach a T-intersection on the docks, head west. At the very end of this dock, you'll find a PP Up!. Grab it, then make your way back to the main intersection in front of the PWT building.

Now, take the path east from the intersection. Along this path, you'll find two more stalls. The easternmost stall has a special Move Tutor. This tutor can teach Frenzy Plant, Hydro Cannon, or Blast Burn to a starter Pokémon from any generation. The west-most stall teaches the Pledge moves: Fire Pledge, Water Pledge, or Grass Pledge. These are great for specific strategies!

Keep going to the very end of this eastern path. You'll find a man facing north. Talk to him, and he'll give you a Rocky Helmet. From there, head north, past the fountain. Move west, and you'll spot two Vending Machines with bins on either side. Check the eastern bin, and you'll find some Zinc. That's all the exploring to do around here for now!
