    From the start, jump north onto the left of two blocks near a platform. Dodge the Rocky Wrench's thrown wrench and jump to its platform.

    From there, jump left to another block, then left again onto the block with a Warp Pipe. Wait for the Rocky Wrench to pop up, stomp it, and enter the pipe.

    You'll emerge on a platform above your previous location. Break the brick block to reveal a gear. Use your Tanooki Suit's Tail Spin to spin the gear and ride the platform upwards. Keep going until the platform stops moving up, then move north-east to grab the Star Coin before the platform drops. Drop back down.

Move right to the end and wait for it to move back. Jump onto the small face at the top and ride the block past a Poison Mushroom until it stops. Jump off onto the next block.

    Run along the first part of this block, staying in the center. When it moves clockwise enough to jump onto the next part and run right, do so. Follow the path, staying on the face closest to upright until the end of the block. Wait for it to move right until you can jump to the small block with the Warp Box.

    Jump onto this block and stay in the center until the face with the Star Coin is the top face. Grab the Star Coin. You can break the fake 1-Up, Goomba, and Warp Pipe for a coin each. Then, jump into the Warp Box.

    You'll warp to the platform above. Ignore the fake items. Move left and enter the Warp Box there. It will warp you to the block next to the Goal Pole.

    Do not take the right Warp Box unless you want to warp to a point on the Goal Pole that gives ten coins. Break the fake 1-Up for a real 1-Up and grab it. Take a running jump from the center of the right edge onto the top of the Goal Pole for a 1-Up.

Special 8-3 Walkthrough:

  1. This course requires 250 Star Coins to unlock and is a Cosmic Clone and time trial combination.
  2. Jump up and grab the Blue Clock. Bypass the two brick blocks to your left. Jump up the steps and stomp the Dry Bones. Hit the ? Block for a coin. Ignore the next two brick blocks.
  3. Move north-east and wait next to the floating platforms. Jump onto them and run north-east, jumping over the swinging Pole 'n' Chain. Grab the Blue Clock near the end and jump to the next set of floating platforms.
  4. Run along these, jumping over the two Pole 'n' Chains. Grab the next Blue Clock at the end and jump to the next set of platforms.
  5. Wait on the center of the south-west edge of a sinking platform. Let it float until it's underneath the Star Coin. Jump up and grab it, then land on the platforms to your south. Ride these north-east and jump back to the previous set of platforms.
  6. Run north-east along these platforms, watching for Dry Bones. Jump onto the stable platform and grab the Blue Clock. Jump onto the wooden platform, whether it's being elevated by the lava geyser or not. Ignore or stomp the Dry Bones and jump to the next platform.
  7. Stomp the Draglet to avoid its fireballs. Run to the first Thwomp; wait for it to slam before moving underneath. Circle around it.
