Learn how to farm infinite lives in Super Mario Land using the World 4-1 Koopa Troopa trick and Special World 1-3 Goomba method.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
World 4-1 Koopa Troopa Method: At the start of the course, move left and north up the steps. Position yourself near the Koopa Troopa by the water moving west-east. Wait for it to move far left, then stomp it once and move away. Stomp it a second time to send it into its shell. Move south of the shell and run north into it, directing it towards the thinner part of the pool where it will bounce between the two edges. Drop onto the shell just as it hits the edge closest to you, stopping it, then immediately stomp it again to send it north. If positioned correctly, you will repeatedly bounce on the shell for 1-Ups until time runs out. If you aren't positioned correctly or time runs out, you can attempt it again.
  2. 2
Special World 1-3 Goomba Farming: After launching yourself onto the 8-bit Goomba platform near the beginning, you will see two Baddie Boxes. Wait on the ledge south of these boxes for the maximum number of Goombas (three from each box) to spawn. Begin jumping on the Goombas, pressing 'A' as you land for a larger jump to reach the next Goomba and allow more to spawn. If you have the Tanooki or Statue power-up, hover to the next Goomba, stomp it, perform a large jump, and repeat.
  3. 3
Pom Pom 1-Up Method: In a battle with Pom Pom, dodge her boomerangs and stomp her. Move aside and wait for her to withdraw into her shell. Jump onto and stomp the shell repeatedly. After the fourth stomp without touching the ground, you will receive a 1-Up. Continue this until Pom Pom emerges from her shell, ensuring you do not touch her. This process can be repeated once more before defeating her.
Tips
  • To save your collected 1-Ups, complete the course normally. Do not exit through the pause menu, as they will not be saved.
  • If you wish to collect more 1-Ups after time runs out in World 4-1, you can attempt the trick again.
  • In Special World 1-3, if you don't stall long enough between stomping Goombas, the Baddie Boxes won't spawn them quickly enough. Moving too far from a Baddie Box will cause it to stop spawning Goombas.
  • The Special World 1-3 method requires concentration to time your jumps and aim for the next Goomba. If you make a mistake, you might take damage and lose your Tanooki or Statue power-up.
  • If you mess up in Special World 1-3 or there aren't enough Goombas, move back to the ledge south of the Baddie Boxes and wait for them to respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death).
  • The Pom Pom method is less effective because she is usually found near the end of a course, and you can only earn a limited number of 1-Ups before she dies. It also carries a high risk of taking damage and takes time to reach the boss battle.
  • If you mess up the Pom Pom method, you can die before defeating her and restart, but it takes time to get back to the boss battle.
  • The World 4-1 method is generally safer than the Special World 1-3 method if you mess up, as it usually results in less damage taken compared to the potential for losing power-ups or kicking the shell away in the latter.
  • If you need to restart from the beginning of a course or kill yourself to reach a checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) in Super Mario Land, ensure you are near the beginning of the course for easier access.
