Replay World 8-Final Castle in Super Mario Land with Luigi! This guide details the revisited course, including enhanced Bowser fireballs, Star Coin locations, and strategies for this challenging level.

You are required to replay the World 8-Final Castle course again. It's recommended that you do this with Luigi. Not only is he easier to use, but if you plan to play the final course of the game, you will be required to finish every course with each character and you've already defeated this course with Mario. You'll effectively be killing two birds with one stone.

This is World 8-Final Castle, but with a final boss battle that's on crack, to put it bluntly. The course is the same, but Bowser's fireballs are much, much quicker this time around. You will need to differ strategies slightly to complete the level. They'll be listed during the boss battle portion of the walkthrough.

For the vast majority of the course, this walkthrough will be the same as the World 8-Final Castle walkthrough, but anywhere that this course is different, the walkthrough will change accordingly. The Star Coin Alert Boxes are also included, allowing you to collect any that you may have missed before. It's recommended that you just skip past any that you've already collected. Enjoy!

You start this level riding on a strange-looking vehicle. Collect all of the coins as at the start and the vehicle will soon begin to roll down a steep incline. Up ahead is a large number of fireballs that you're going to need to dodge. It all gets pretty hectic from here on out.

Note: The right and left side of the vehicle for all instructions below are from the perspective of Mario when he's facing the front of the vehicle.

Move to the front-right corner of the vehicle and stay there until after the first four fireballs have moved past. Quickly run to the back left corner of the vehicle until you've passed the two fireballs at the corner of the track.

1. Star Coin Alert! #1: From there move to the middle of the back. You should have just turned the corner now. Let the first row of three fireballs move past in front of you. Now you need to run immediately toward the front centre of the vehicle and jump just before you move past the Star Coin, grabbing it and also jumping out of the way of a fireball. Once you've got it, run to the very front centre of the vehicle. You're now past the fireballs!

Move to the very centre of the vehicle and wait until you reach the Firebar. When you do reach it, jump south-west over it and then west over the next bar. You'll have cleared the Firebar and will stop at the end of the rail. Jump onto the platform on your right and grab the coin.

After a short pause the platform will get shot into the air. Run off of it and onto the cracked blocks to your north. Run and jump along them until you reach the end then jump onto the platform to your right. When jumping between platforms here, be careful of the fireballs that are being fired between them. If you're not careful they'll catch you out.

1. Star Coin Alert! #2: Wait for the next platform to drop down and then jump onto it. Stomp the Dry Bones on the platform and wait for it to move back up, move under the shadow of the Star Coin in the centre and jump up to grab it.

Make sure the platform to your right has dropped and then jump down to it. Jump off of it and onto the next vehicle. It'll move north, getting shot over the lava geysers. Further ahead is a heap of fireballs hurtling toward you. Move to the far left or right corners and wait for the fireballs to come. Weave in and out until you've passed the first wave. Don't run when weaving otherwise you'll waste too much time stopping and changing direction. Instead simply walk between the fireballs. It may seem odd, but it works.

1. Star Coin Alert! #3: Stay at the far corners and then weave through the next set of gaps in the fireballs, moving from the first gap toward the centre, back out and back toward the centre again each time. The Star Coin will be near the end of the wave but you get a very, very small window of opportunity to get this one. At the last central fireball, jump over it. You'll grab the Star Coin above it and the fireball will pass beneath you before you drop. A good way to get the timing right is to look ahead and find the shadow of the Star Coin and then follow that until you're about to move past it and then jump. You only get one chance at this one so be sure to focus so you can get it right. If you miss it, but still want to get it you're going to have to jump down into the lava to restart the level and try again, which can be quite the frustration.

After you're past the second wave of fireballs, the vehicle will once again get shot into the air and up onto a set of rails above. It'll then continue moving forward until it reaches the platform. Jump onto it and run up the stairs. Run over the drawbridge and jump into the cannon.
