Complete Part 87 of the Super Mario Land walkthrough. Learn how to defeat Dry Bowser and navigate the challenges of Special World 5-1.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Defeat the two Goombas on the elevated platform.
  2. 2
Approach Dry Bowser. If possible, perform a running jump onto the platform northeast of him; otherwise, jump directly onto his platform.
  3. 3
Be cautious of Podoboos jumping from the lava when crossing any gaps.
  4. 4
Dry Bowser attacks with a Tail Spin (when close) or fireballs. Dodge or move out of range of the Tail Spin. For fireballs, move side-to-side.
  5. 5
If Dry Bowser jumps ahead, wait for him to land on a platform.
  6. 6
Jump onto the first wooden platform, then the next.
  7. 7
Wait for Dry Bowser to jump into a position with a gap on either side, then run or jump past him. Repeat this until you reach the final wooden platform.
  8. 8
Dodge Dry Bowser's attacks until he jumps, creating a gap. Run past him.
  9. 9
Jump onto the Black Button. You will grab a Green Clock, gaining 100 seconds and replenishing your time.
  10. 10
Dry Bowser will fall into the lava, and the castle door will open.
  11. 11
Enter the castle and hit the Warp Box at the end to warp to the top of the castle.
  12. 12
Jump up the boxes on the left to reach the top.
  13. 13
Take a running jump from the right edge of the top box onto the Goal Pole for a 1-Up.
  14. 14
Course Clear! SPECIAL WORLD 5 CLEAR!
  15. 15
Special 6-1: Move and hit the left ? Block to get a Propeller Block. Do not hit the ? Block to the right, as it contains a Poison Mushroom. The next two ? Blocks to the right are Propeller Blocks, but the rightmost one also contains a Poison Mushroom.
  16. 16
After using a Propeller Block, propel yourself up to the platform with braziers at each corner. Hit the ? Block in the middle for five coins.
  17. 17
Drop back to the sand. Three Sandmaarghs will appear (two on the left, one on the right). To defeat them, stand still and let them move under you. As their shadow disappears, jump up and away. The Sandmaargh will appear where you were; jump on it to defeat it.
  18. 18
Around the building, there are Propeller Boxes and Sandmaarghs. Coins are floating on the opposite side.
  19. 19
Secret: A small path is behind the building. Go left from the brazier platform, follow the building's wall to the corner, and find the path. Move onto it for a string of coins to appear. Run and collect them.
  20. 20
Another point of interest is along the wall to the left of the brazier platform.
  21. 21
This level is very open. The following is one linear walkthrough: Move back to the brazier platform at the start. Take a running jump towards the corner closest to you. Propel yourself after the jump and hover onto the platform. In the northwest corner is a Green Clock; grab it and move out from under the covered part of the platform.
  22. 22
Star Coin Alert! #1: Move over and wait on the right side of the Large Note Block for a clear view of the wall to your right.
