Part 54

Start by moving north. Hit the P-Switch to create a chain platform. Dodge Magikoopa bolts and stomp them.

Move past Dry Bones and jump onto the next chain platform. Hit the ? Block for coins. Dodge the Magmaargh by jumping to the north-east platform.

Continue north, stomping the Draglet and dodging fireballs. Wait for Podoboos to fall back into the lava before jumping across.

Climb the first pole and jump across to the next when the lava geyser subsides.

Star Coin #1: Slide down the south side of the pole to collect the Star Coin at the bottom. Climb back up and jump north, timing your jump to avoid the Firebar.

Move north, jumping over the Firebar. Jump onto the ledge with brick blocks and hit them for coins. Move right to the next ledge and onto the Switchboard.

Move right past the first Magmaargh. Wait for the second Magmaargh to pass, then move across and hit the Large ? Block for coins if desired. Continue right, waiting for subsequent Magmaarghs, then jump to the platform at the end.

Hit the Checkpoint Flag. Move north and hit the P-Switch to raise a platform and reveal a coin ring. Grab the coins as the platform rises.

At the top, defeat the three Boomerang Bros. one by one. Dodge their boomerangs and stomp them. Be aware of returning boomerangs and their jumps. The last one drops a Boomerang Plant.

Star Coin #2: The Star Coin is in the lava gap between the platforms where the last Boomerang Bro. was. Walk off the edge to grab it, then immediately wall jump off the wall back to the platform above.

Go north and east. Use the Binoculars to survey the rest of the course and spot the final Star Coin. Cancel looking and run left.

Move left to grab the two coins near the edge. This makes an invisible platform appear. Jump on it, causing more platforms and two Magikoopas to appear. Stomp both Magikoopas.

Move to the northern platform, causing more to appear. Jump north again to make the final platform and a Warp Box appear. Hit the Warp Box.

Move right to face Bowser. Jump onto the first rolling ball, staying centered to avoid the lava.

Star Coin #3: Jump to the third ball. While still Boomerang Mario, throw a boomerang at the Star Coin located north of you.

Continue timing your jumps across the rolling balls.
