There are 10 Special Equipment (Special Weapon) Challenges in Crimson Desert, all part of the Mastery Category. Finishing all of them unlocks the Grand Collector of Arms trophy & achievement. Note that Kuku versions of weapons do not count towards these challenges; you must use the base version.
Special Weapon 1: Flamespitter
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact south of Varnia Saltroad Camp.
- Challenge: Burn 10 enemies within 15 seconds using the Flamespitter.
- How to Complete: Access the research facility at Zargan Tankworks in Gorthak, northwestern Delesyia, by Chapter 11. Complete the second level of research, Weapon Heat-Treatment Research, to send Greymane expedition to craft the Flamespitter at Gorthak Ironworks. Aim and hold to fire a continuous stream of fire. Find a large group of at least 10 enemies and aim through them.
- Reward: 1x Abyss Artifact, 1x Greater Flameward
Special Weapon 2: Propeller Spear
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact northwest from Oasis Hearth.
- Challenge: Hit 5 enemies at once with a propeller spear wind attack.
- How to Complete: By Chapter 11, access Great Gate of Urdavah research and complete Wind Energy Fusion Device Research to send Greymane expeditions to Helmara for a Propeller Spear. By Chapter 12, access the City of Delysia research facility and complete Delesyian Institute: Basic Science Research for the blueprint. Equip in the secondary slot. Line up at least 5 enemies and attack with the basic attack to send a wave of air.

Special Weapon 3: Knuckledrill
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact northwest of Isvatu Fortress.
- Challenge: Hit the explosion from the overheated Knuckledrill 5 times.
- How to Complete: Obtain as a reward from House Roberts: Estate in Dismay – Stolen Quarry quest in Hernand. After Chapter 12, complete Electric Tool Design Research at Dewhaven Keep to send Greymanes to Karin Quarry for Mining Drill Production. Equip in the secondary slot. Hold basic attack to continuously hit an enemy; a finishing move occurs after a few seconds. Perform this 5 times.

Special Weapon 4: Lightning Spear
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact north of Arcosa in a wooden shrine.
- Challenge: Defeat 30 enemies with the Lightning Spear.
- How to Complete: By Chapter 12, access Dewhaven Keep research facility in Deleysia. Complete Dewhaven Keep Facility Research for the blueprint to construct at a smithy. Complete Electric Tool Design Research to send expeditions to Steelspike Armory in Delysia for 1 Lightning Spear per dispatch. The spear deals electric damage.

Special Weapon 5: Bismuth Spear
- How to Unlock: Pick up Sealed Abyss Artifact west of Svinholt Ranch in a small wooden shrine.
- Challenge: Defeat 30 enemies with the Bismuth Spear.
- How to Complete: Obtain from the Well of Enlightenment after liberating it and defeating the Bismuth Oreback Crab boss. Send a Greymane expedition to the location for additional spears. The Bismuth Spear deals bismuth damage.
