Fishing in Crimson Desert is a rewarding side activity. To get your first fishing rod, complete the quest "A Line in the Water" from the old fisherman in Hernand. Alternatively, repair a broken rod found behind the Hernand fish market. Approach any body of water with a fishing icon. The fishing minigame has four phases: Cast, Hook, Fight, and Reel. Cast to determine distance, press the hook button within a narrow window upon seeing a splash, counter the fish's movement in the Fight phase to keep the tension gauge green, and rapidly press the reel button in the Reel phase. Longer casts reach deeper water with larger fish. Upgrading your rod or using bait can extend the hook timing window. Common fish take about fifteen seconds to catch, while legendary fish can take over a minute.

Best Fishing Spots by Region:

• Hernand: Millstone River Bend (River Trout, Silver Minnows, Hernand Catfish), upstream near the old watermill (Spotted Bass during rain), Lake Vernis (Goldfin Perch, Blue-Stripe Eel).
• Pailune: Pailune Harbor docks (Saltwater Grouper, Ocean Sunfish, Silver Mackerel), Coral Tide Pools (Crimson Shrimp, Spiny Lobster).
• Demeniss: Darkwater Marshes (Marsh Eels, Shadowfin Pike).
• Delesyia: Moonfall Basin (Crystal Koi, Abyssal Catfish, mana-restoring fish).

Legendary Fish:

Catching all five legendary fish unlocks the "Master Angler" achievement and a cosmetic fishing outfit. You need the Porin Rod, obtained from the quest chain starting with "The Old Man and the Deep" in Pailune. The Porin Rod has a reinforced line and extends the Hook timing window.
