Ice Wraith

Defeat Ice Wraiths in Crimson Desert using fire attacks to counter their freeze. They drop frost essence materials for crafting.

Ice Wraiths are elemental frost spirits found in the coldest regions of Pailune, such as frozen valleys, glacial caves, and snow-buried ruins. They are ethereal entities that emanate a palpable cold, causing the ambient temperature to drop noticeably. Their attacks inflict a stacking frost debuff that slows movement and attack speed, and they can apply the Freeze status effect, immobilizing targets and leaving them vulnerable. While immune to frost damage, Ice Wraiths are highly vulnerable to fire-based attacks.

To mitigate the Freeze effect, players can use frost resistance consumables. Fire-imbued weapons deal bonus damage to frozen targets, creating an offensive loop where players can break free from a freeze and then retaliate with amplified fire damage. Equipping the Mantle of Frost ability provides a cold resistance aura that reduces Freeze duration and prevents chain-freezes in group encounters. Electrical (Shock-type) damage disrupts their spectral cohesion, forcing them into a fully corporeal state where they take increased damage from all sources.

Ice Wraiths drop frost essence materials like crystallized cold cores and wraith shards, essential for crafting frost-imbued weapon upgrades and cold-resistance armor enchantments. The rare Permafrost Core, needed for the Frostbane armor set, has an increased drop rate during blizzard weather events in Pailune's glacial caves.
