Hey there! As you journey through the Alola region in Pokémon Sun and Moon, you're going to notice some familiar Pokémon looking and acting a little… different. These are called Alolan Forms, and they've adapted big time to fit into their new island homes. Think of it like a Pokémon evolving to survive in a brand new environment!

These Alolan Form Pokémon still have the same Pokédex number as their original counterparts, but their stats might be tweaked, and their types can be totally different. Because they've changed to suit Alola, they can't just switch back to their old forms, and vice versa. It's a one-way street adaptation!
