Understanding Stats: Advanced Trainer Info

Alright, so you've been playing Pokémon Sun and Moon for a bit and you're ready to dive deeper than just looking at HP and Attack, right? This guide is all about understanding the nitty-gritty of your Pokémon's stats, especially using that cool hexagonal chart. It's aimed at us trainers who want to get the absolute most out of our teams.

So, the game shows you this hexagonal chart by default. Think of the blue shape on it – the closer it is to the edge, the better your Pokémon is in that particular stat. The chart can show stats up to 300, but remember, your Pokémon can actually have higher stats than that!

Now, here's where it gets interesting. Press the Y button, and you'll switch to the “advanced” view. In this mode, the yellow shape in the middle shows the base stats for that specific Pokémon species. The outer shape, though, that's all about your Pokémon's Effort Values, or EVs. If this outer shape is orange, it means your Pokémon can still gain more EVs in that stat. But if it turns cyan, congrats – it's maxed out! And if a stat is actually shimmering? That means you've poured the maximum possible EVs into it. Pretty neat, huh?

Both views show you important info, but they focus on slightly different things. The default view gives you the full picture: your Pokémon's stats as affected by its level, species base stats, Individual Values (IVs), EVs, and Nature. The advanced view, however, simplifies it by only showing two of those factors. Keep that in mind as you're training!
