Battle Gladion: His team consists of Golbat (Level 37, Poison/Flying), Sneasel (Level 37, Dark/Ice), and Type: Null (Level 38, Normal). Rock, Electric, or Steel-types are good against Golbat. Fighting-types are 4x effective against Sneasel, otherwise Bug, Rock, Steel, Fire, and Fairy-types are good. Fighting-types are recommended against the Normal-type Type: Null, or Steel-types can hold their own.

After the battle, Gladion will offer to teleport you outside the ferry terminal in Malie City. You can accept or decline and travel there yourself.

Battle Kahuna Nanu: His team consists of Sableye (Level 38, Ghost/Dark), Krokorok (Level 38, Ground/Dark), and Alolan Persian (Level 39, Dark). Nanu uses Hyper Potions and Full Heals.

Sableye is weak to Fairy-types, but its moveset of Rock and Ghost means Pokémon resistant to those are effective. Be prepared for Fake Out on turn one; consider using an item instead of attacking.

Krokorok is weak to Grass, Water, Ice, Fairy, and Fighting-types. Its Intimidate Ability lowers your Attack, and it knows Swagger, which raises its Attack and confuses you.

Alolan Persian is weak to Fighting, Fairy, and Bug-types. Its Fur Coat Ability reduces physical damage. It has Darkium Z, so Pokémon resistant to Dark are ideal. It also knows Fake Out and the Rock-type move Power Gem.

Upon defeating Nanu, you will earn his Darkium Z. This signifies the completion of your island trials on Ula Ula Island.

From this point forward, all Pokemon up to Level 65 will obey your command.
