Walkthrough
  1. 1
A Lucky Break: Visit Professor Kukui in his lab on Route 1. If you have registered at least 50 Pokémon in your Pokédex, he will give you a Lucky Egg (which boosts experience gain when held) and TM90 Substitute. You can also check Lillie's room in the loft.
  2. 2
Back to the Mall: Return to the Hau’oli City Shopping Mall. The trainers in the Battle Buffet have stronger Pokémon. You might encounter the Buffet Queen for a fun challenge. Mr. Hyper, to the right of the Battle Buffet, can make your Pokémon stronger if they are Level 100 and you give him a Bottle Cap or Gold Bottle Cap. The antique store now sells Plates for Arceus, and the rest can be found scattered across Melemele Island:
    • Mind Plate: Route 1, palm tree right outside your house
  3. 3
Earth Plate: Route 1, palm tree towards the east side, on the beach
  4. 4
Flame Plate: Trainer’s School, north-east corner next to incinerator
  5. 5
Icicle Plate: Hau’oli City Beachfront, shallow water towards the south
  6. 6
Insect Plate: Hau’oli City Shopping District, palm tree between the shopping mall and salon
  7. 7
Toxic Plate: Hau’oli City Shopping District, north-west corner of Pokémon Centre (outside)
  8. 8
Meadow Plate: Hau’oli City Shopping District, patch of tall grass west from the City Hall entrance
  9. 9
Draco Plate: Hau’oli City Shopping District, south of police truck in the police station car park
  10. 10
Spooky Plate: Hau’oli Cemetery, grave stone near the middle
  11. 11
Rematch with Guzma: Head to Route 2, near the motel area. Guzma's mother is in a house east of the motel and will give you TM87 Swagger. Then, go to the north end of Hau’oli City Beachfront to battle Guzma.
  12. 12
Pokémon Trainer Guzma: Guzma's team consists of Golisopod (63), Masquerain (63), Scizor (63), Ariados (63), and Pinsir (63). Defeating him yields a Dawn Stone.
  13. 13
A Final Lesson: Go to the top floor of the Trainer’s School, then west along the corridor to battle Black Belt Duane.
  14. 14
Black Belt Duane: Duane's team consists of Primeape (55) and Lucario (56).
