Discover Big Wave Beach in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Find hidden items like Pearls and Fresh Water, and learn about the Mantine Surf mini-game.

This small beach area is brand new to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, serving as one of the places where you can participate in the new Mantine Surf mini-game. Sadly, you’re too green to be riding the waves, so we’re just here to do some quick sightseeing. Along the east side of the beach are a couple of stalls.

The first one, near the entrance, is a BP shop where you can exchange hard-earned BP for consumable items. Meanwhile the one above it is a BP shop that teaches elusive moves to Pokémon. At this point, you may not have any BP, so time to move along. Approach the bikini-clad lady by the slope just above.

She’ll happily tell you about the wonders of Mantine Surf, which you can try once you’ve beaten a kahuna, i.e. after beating Hala. From here, you can wander around the west side of the beach if you’re curious. In particular, go over to the shoreline south-west from Mantine, then position yourself just before the camera starts to swing around.

Thoroughly search the nearby sands, by hammering the A button, and you may find a buried Pearl. It can be a little tricky without anything to guide you, but thankfully you can refer to our screenshots. If successful, head due south from here, towards a surfer chatting up a woman with a sunhat.

Stand in the middle of them, or at least as close as possible without interrupting. From here, slowly walk up while searching with the A button again. After 2 or 3 paces, you should find a hidden Fresh Water. Next, head east back towards the Mantine Surf sign, then follow the beach south-east, near the ocean waves.

Along the way, there should be a big rock by the cliff side, with a palm tree above it. Search the space to its right to hunt for another sunken Pearl.

Further south-east, past the beach sand if you keep walking on the shallow water, is the Sandy Cave. However you can’t progress further in without a way to cross the water. That said, if you run around near the entrance, you can encounter some wild Pokémon.
