Navigate the West Wing of Team Rainbow Rocket's castle in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, defeat Grunts, and challenge the formidable Archie and his Kyogre.
Walkthrough
- 1The West Wing is filled with Team Rainbow Rocket Grunts and teleporters. Follow the map markers to find them.
- 2Trap Room: If you enter the north teleporter, you'll find three Grunts, a wild Electrode, and an Iron Ball. To escape, follow the teleporters in order. Use the south-east teleporter when presented with two options on the south to return to the west wing entrance.
- 3Grunt Encounters: The south teleporter leads to a chamber with many Grunts. The correct path is south twice, then west. Other teleporters lead to dead ends or loops, but you can battle Grunts for experience and find items like a Guard Spec, Max Potion, and Rare Candy. A wild Electrode can also be encountered here.
- 4Next Chamber: You'll be ambushed by a single Grunt.
- 5Teleporter Choice: After the ambush, three teleporters are available. Take the west teleporter. The north teleporter leads to a room with a Revive.
- 6Boss Room Entrance: Two Grunts guard the boss's room, with a Full Restore nearby.
- 7Archie Encounter: Heal your Pokémon and save your game before approaching Archie. He will monologue about Kyogre's power.
Archie's Team:
- Mightyena (Lv. 64) - Dark
- Crobat (Lv. 64) - Poison/Flying
- Muk (Lv. 64) - Poison
- Sharpedo (Lv. 64) - Water/Dark
- Kyogre (Lv. 66) - Water
Archie's Strategy & Weaknesses:
- Mightyena: Weak to Fighting and Fairy-types.
- Crobat: Weak to Electric, Rock, Ice, and Steel-types.
- Muk: Weak to Psychic and Ground-types.
- Sharpedo: Weak to Electric or Fighting-types.
- Kyogre: Its Drizzle Ability summons rain, powering up Water-type moves and making Thunder accurate. Electric-types are preferred. Canceling the rain with abilities like Drought or Sunny Day is highly effective. Overpowered Legendaries like Necrozma, Solgaleo, or Lunala can also be used.
After the Battle:
- Archie will allow you to access a switch behind the painting.
- Use the awakened teleporter to return to the castle entrance.
- If you activated the switch in Maxie's room, the barriers blocking the staircases will lower.
Tips
- If hit by Toxic from a Tentacruel, cure it immediately as it will likely use Protect next turn.
- The teleporter puzzles can be confusing; carefully follow the directions to avoid wasting time.
- Archie's Kyogre is a significant threat; prepare accordingly by bringing strong Electric-types or Pokémon that can set up weather.
