Trial 7

The Totem Pokémon for Trial 7 on Poni Island is a Level 49 Kommo-o, a Dragon/Fighting-type.

This Kommo-o receives a boost to all its stats at the start of the battle.

Kommo-o is weak to Flying, Ice, Psychic, and Dragon-type moves, and doubly weak to Fairy-type moves.

Be cautious as Kommo-o has moves super-effective against Ice, Flying, and Fairy-types.

Kommo-o's attacks include Dragon Claw (Dragon), Drain Punch (restores HP), Thunder Punch (punishes Flying-types), and Poison Jab (punishes Fairy-types).

Kommo-o is holding a Roseli Berry, which weakens one super-effective Fairy-type attack.

Kommo-o may call Scizor (Bug/Steel) as a teammate, which can use Light Screen and Bullet Punch.

Alternatively, Kommo-o may call Noivern (Flying/Dragon) as a teammate, which can use Screech to lower Defense and Boomburst.

To stand a chance, use Pokémon with overwhelming power or those extremely well-suited to the task.

Fairy-types are a good option but must be bulky enough to withstand two Poison Jabs, as Kommo-o will likely survive the first hit due to its Roseli Berry.

Ice and Dragon-types should be avoided unless as a last resort, as they take heavy damage from Drain Punch and Dragon Claw.

Flying and Psychic-types are possibly the best choices. Flying-types take super-effective damage from Thunder Punch but should survive as it's not STAB. Psychic-types take neutral damage but must be mindful of Dragon Claw.

Both Flying and Psychic-types have access to super-effective Z-Moves.

Mimikyu, a Ghost/Fairy-type found rarely in the abandoned Thrifty Megamart, is immune to Dragon and Fighting moves and takes neutral damage from Poison Jab. Its Disguise ability lets it negate one attack.

Consider teaching Dazzling Gleam (TM found in Vast Poni Canyon) to non-Fairy Pokémon like Alakazam, Espeon, or Gengar. Kommo-o takes 4x damage from Fairy-type moves.

After completing the trial, head for the exit past the empty pedestal.
