Poni Coast

Navigate Poni Coast in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Discover trainers like Anton, Steve & Reika, Noriko & Devin, and Aiden, and find items like Max Revive and TM97 Dark Pulse.

Poni Coast is a small area in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon connecting Poni Plains and Poni Gauntlet. As you enter, a ramp leads to a small raised area ahead, with a boulder to its left that can be broken with Tauros.

You can visit the top of the raised area for souvenir photos. Otherwise, break the boulder and dismount from Tauros to proceed north through a narrow path. A ramp to the left leads to higher ground. Alternatively, you can reach this area by going around the east side of the raised area, breaking the boulder, and heading west.

Youth Athlete Anton

Anton's Pokémon:

• Sandslash (Alolan) - Level 58 (Ice/Steel)

Anton has high Attack and Defense. His Sandslash uses Metal Claw, Ice Ball, Slash, and Defense Curl. Fire and Fighting-types are effective, as are Ground-types.

After defeating Anton, head north. Hug the cliff side to avoid him if necessary. Search around the far end to find a hidden Max Revive. Turn south, jump over the ledge, and pick up TM97 Dark Pulse to the right.

Tourist Couple Steve and Reika

Steve and Reika's Pokémon:

• Exeggutor - Level 59 (Grass/Psychic)
• Exeggutor (Alolan) - Level 59 (Grass/Dragon)

Both Exeggutor use Leaf Storm, Wood Hammer, Psyshock, and Egg Bomb. The regular Exeggutor is weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, Poison, Dark, Ghost, and doubly weak to Bug. The Alolan Exeggutor is weak to Flying, Poison, Bug, Dragon, Fairy, and doubly weak to Ice.

After the battle, jump over the ledge back to the entrance. Return to the base of the ramp near Anton. A narrow path north leads to a burrowing Pokémon. Alternatively, summon Tauros and smash the boulder to the east (if not already done), then proceed north. Another boulder can be broken to the left. Continuing north towards the slope leads to Poni Gauntlet.

Head west past the final boulder. Two trainers are on the other side. You can skip them by hugging the hill above the shattered boulder, or by walking behind them if you came via the burrowing Pokémon's path.

Honeymooners Noriko and Devin

Noriko and Devin's Pokémon:

• Ninetales - Level 59 (Fire)
• Sandslash - Level 59 (Ground)
• Geodude - Level 59 (Rock/Ground)
• Graveler - Level 59 (Rock/Ground)
• Golem - Level 59 (Rock/Ground)

Noriko's Ninetales uses Flamethrower, Quick Attack, Safeguard, and Confuse Ray. Water and Rock-types are effective. Her Sandslash uses Earthquake, Gyro Ball, Swords Dance, and Sandstorm. Grass-types are ideal.

Devin's Geodude line uses Stone Edge, Earthquake, Double Edge, and Explosion. Grass or Water-types are recommended.

Further north, another trainer stands by a Power Bracer, an item that enhances Attack growth.

Firefighter Aiden

Aiden's Pokémon:

• Octillery - Level 60 (Water)
• Clawitzer - Level 60 (Water)

Octillery has solid offensive stats but low Speed. It uses Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, and Hyper Beam. Electric-types are safest, or fast Grass-types.

Clawitzer has exceptional Special Attack but is slow. It uses Muddy Water, Water Pulse (boosted by Mega Launcher Ability), and Aqua Jet. Grass-types handle it best.

After defeating Aiden, exit north-east to Poni Gauntlet.
