Restore HP and MP at inns and buy gear from shops in bravely default. Learn about pg currency and the Adventurer's Shop.
Inns
Inns are located in towns and are indicated by a bed icon on the bottom screen. You must pay the innkeep a sum of pg (the game's currency) to use the inn. Upon resting, your party will restore all HP and MP, and recover from all status ailments, including K.O. Sleeping in an inn also automatically changes the time of day to day. While it may seem like a hassle to return to an inn, it is the cheapest and most effective way to restore your characters.
Town Shops
Each town has three types of shops: a weapon shop (sword and shield icon), an item shop (potion icon), and a magic shop (staff icon). It is recommended to visit these shops when you reach a new town to ensure your weapons, items, and spells are up to date, as monsters typically get stronger with each new area. The official currency is pg, which can be obtained by beating enemies or opening chests. You can also sell items to shops for pg, but you will only receive a quarter of the item's worth. When browsing a shop, you can see a list of purchasable items and their prices. Hovering over an item will display its stats, and for equipment, you can see its effects on your characters on the bottom screen.
The Adventurer's Shop
The Adventurer, marked by a hat with an S icon, also sells items and equipment. His stock is dependent on how far you have rebuilt Norende Village. You can increase the number of items available in his inventory by increasing the level of certain buildings in Norende Village.
- Always check the shops in new towns to keep your gear and spells updated.
- Selling items to shops is generally not recommended due to the low return value (25% of the original cost).
- Rebuilding Norende Village is key to unlocking more items in the Adventurer's Shop.
